REVIEW OF 2009 EVENTS

A concert by FRIENDS IN HARMONY with Croesgoch CP School choir and soloist Tristan Llyr Griffiths (tenor) on 27 November raised a large sum for St Non's Ward, Withybush.

On 11 December we enjoyed Lunchtime Music for Christmas, played by the PENFRO MINSTRELS.

HAVERFORDWEST LADIES CHOIR performed a very festive Christmas Concert on11 December.

The LANDSKER SINGERS held their Christmas Concert on 13 December. The capacity audience was thrilled by the performance.

The HILLMAN STRING QUARTET played works by Haydn, Bridge and Borodin.

The annual TASKER MILWARD SCHOOL Carol Concert was held in St Mary's on 16 December and on 17 December HAVERFORDWEST TOWN COUNCIL's Annual Carol Service again filled the church.

Our programme of FRIDAY LUNCHTIME EVENTS for 2009 completed at the end of September. We'd like to run them throughout the year but until we manage to replace our present heating system the building is too cold!!

St Mary's owes a great debt to the many gifted and enthusiastic local musicians who give freely of their time to perform during these lunchtime concerts. We shall be arranging a programme of events for 2010 so please get in touch with Pat Barker (address on home page) if you would like to take part.

Everone is welcome to drop in for an hour, or just five minutes, to appreciate a musical interlude at lunchtime.Admission is free but contributions to our church and restoration funds are important item in our ongoing fundraising. Free teas and coffees are provided...feel free to bring your own packed lunch!

SCRATCH BRASS ENSEMBLE from BIRMINGHAM MUSIC CONSERVATOIRE withTHE PEMBROKESHIRE BRASS CONSORT

Wednesday 24 JUNE at 8pm..A concert by the HAVERFORDWEST MALE VOICE CHOIR with KATHRYN ASHTON, Mezzo-Soprano.

Friday 26 JUNE at 7.30pm. Young singers JESS CALE and EMILY RASTALL, and French Horn soloist RUPERT BROWNE with SUE HOWLEY and SEIMON MORRIS.

Sunday 12 July The Annual Songs of Praise organised by the Friends of St Mary's was conducted by Mrs Shirley Williams

Sunday 20 September at 7.30pm. CARMARTHEN SYMPHONIC WIND BAND and NEYLAND LADIES CHOIR. Proceeds in aid of the PAUL SARTORI FOUNDATION.
