Marys Unite

When we called for "Marys of the World Unite" we wrote to Cunard, Southampton, who had recently launched Queen Mary 2.  By coincidence, a distinguished captain of the Cunard Line, Captain John Treasure Jones, was a Haverfordwest boy.  He was born here on 18th August 1905, educated in the Grammar School and married a Haverfordwest lady in St Mary's Church on 31st August 1933.  He was the last Captain of the first Queen Mary.  We had hoped that this special link with the Church and a Mary would be recognised by a contribution enabling QM2 to appear in the list of Marys.  Sadly that was not to be as Cunard only had a limited budget for charitable donations.  

We need a Million Marys!

Are you called Mary? Do you know someone called Mary? If so you can help us...

Mary ! You will see that the Donation List includes the name Mary.  Between them they have contributed over £600 to the Appeal. Many have, or had, no connection with St Mary's but wished to be connected with their namesake. It is never too late to add your MARY to the Donation List.

If you are called Mary, simply send us a photo of yourself, a poem you have written or some artwork you have done along with a donation of your choice. If you know someone called Mary, make them famous by sending us a description of them or a photo of you with them along with a donation of your choice (even a pound coin taped to some cardboard would be great) to:-

We will put all poems, photos and artwork received up on this website.  You need to include a donation with your submission for us to include it.
